Late Night Coding

Looks like another night of coding, but soon I should be heading off to bed. Does it confuse you when we say "I"? You have no idea who is posting this. There's about 4 of us, and it could be any one of us! Heh.

Anyway, just finished creating a "BUTTONS" JS library, which uses CSS transitions to make text buttons look like graphical buttons, which also uses a custom "SZOS_TECHDINGS" font we made specifically for interfaces. It looks great and doesn't slow down performance. In fact the interface has seen a HUGE performance increase when switching from dozens of .png files to using vector based images.

Right now the big focus is on the XCMS Visual Editor, it's a WYSIWYG Editor technically, but it's not going to be your generic editor seen on other CMS's that looks like MS Word from back in the 90's. This one will allow full control of all elements in your HTML document, yes down to the DOM level.

The biggest challenge here is to make it user-friendly for those who don't even know what the DOM is, but also have enough advanced functions to make the experienced user not feel like they're being treated like a newbie.

I'm gonna need a drink for this one. :)

On a side note, I found and reported a bug in Webkit based browsers that is kind of ruining the Visual Editor a bit during certain actions. Hopefully they'll fix it soon!
